چکیده

Abstract A method of Sequential Log-Convex Programming (SLCP) is constructed that exploits the log-convex structure present in many engineering design problems. The mathematical Geometric (GP) combined with ability Quadratic Program (SQP) to accommodate a wide range objective and constraint functions, resulting practical algorithm can be adopted little no modification existing practices. Three test problems are considered demonstrate SLCP algorithm, comparing it SQP modified Logspace (LSQP). In these cases, shows up 77% reduction number iterations compared SQP, an 11% LSQP. airfoil analysis code XFOIL integrated into one case studies show how used evolve fidelity have initially been modeled as GP compatible. Finally, methodology for based on briefly discussed.

investigating the feasibility of a proposed model for geometric design of deployable arch structures

deployable scissor type structures are composed of the so-called scissor-like elements (sles), which are connected to each other at an intermediate point through a pivotal connection and allow them to be folded into a compact bundle for storage or transport. several sles are connected to each other in order to form units with regular polygonal plan views. the sides and radii of the polygons are...

On Sequential Optimality Conditions without Constraint Qualifications for Nonlinear Programming with Nonsmooth Convex Objective Functions

Sequential optimality conditions provide adequate theoretical tools to justify stopping criteria for nonlinear programming solvers. Here, nonsmooth approximate gradient projection and complementary approximate Karush-Kuhn-Tucker conditions are presented. These sequential optimality conditions are satisfied by local minimizers of optimization problems independently of the fulfillment of constrai...

A Method for Solving Convex Quadratic Programming Problems Based on Differential-algebraic equations

In this paper, a new model based on differential-algebraic equations(DAEs) for solving convex quadratic programming(CQP) problems is proposed. It is proved that the new approach is guaranteed to generate optimal solutions for this class of optimization problems. This paper also shows that the conventional interior point methods for solving (CQP) problems can be viewed as a special case of the n...

A Sequential Method for Mathematical Programming

A sequential programming method for constrained optimization, which is referred to as SP method, is presented. It is based on a sequence of linearized constrained problems. Convergence and convergence rate of the method are analyzed based on solutions of the first order optimality conditions and on Lagrange multiplier theory. Unlike the SQP method, the SP method does not rely on an approximatio...

Sequential Convex Programming for the Efficient Verification of Parametric MDPs

Multi-objective verification problems of parametric Markov decision processes under optimality criteria can be naturally expressed as nonlinear programs. We observe that many of these computationally demanding problems belong to the subclass of signomial programs. This insight allows for a sequential optimization algorithm to efficiently compute sound but possibly suboptimal solutions. Each sta...
